Master Bedroom Turns Whole Level Remodel – Part 3

Welcome back! Ready to see the progress made on our main level remodel? I am so excited to give an update on where everything is at!

I teased you last week about the wall between the dining room and the living room coming down. Well, here are pictures showing the process to getting the wall down and what our home looks like now that the wall is down!

Wow! What a difference already and there are still some major milestones to reach! On top of the construction progress we made, we also picked up more fixtures and picked out more finishes!

First up: new light fixtures! Having light fixtures that are cohesive with each other is important now that everything is seen together. For the hallway light, I decided matching the fixture from the entry made the most sense since its a small area of space to cover and I want the dining fixture to be the star of the show!

For the dining room, I wanted to have something a little more elegant, but still fit our transitional/traditional mix. After looking at 2-dozen light fixtures, Max and I finally agreed on the light fixture shown below. This is really similar to the light fixture we have now, but it has a extra design detail and it’s in the right finish!

Next, we purchased a new rug for the living room. We are installing white PVC trim throughout the house and we have brown furniture we aren’t getting rid of. Both Max and I loved this rug from Home Depot.

We also picked out paint colors! For the Living Room and Hallway paint color, we decided on Sherwin Williams “Acier” SW 9170.

We also decided on Sherwin Williams “Urbane Bronze” SW 7048 with a White Wainscoting in the Dining Room!

At our front entry, there used to be a closet. Again, one of those “design is a living breathing thing” and it was a spur of the moment decision. Here is the vision for this space. It isn’t very big, but the storage space will be better utilized this way!

We selected this Marazzi “Modern Renewal Parchment” 12″x24″ Porcelain Tile from Home Depot, since we aren’t patching in the hardwood floors in a high traffic area like the front door. We want to make sure its easy to wipe down area, especially if it’s going to get wet!

Columbus Ave “Selections” for the Front Entry

Our master bedroom table lamps and rug came this week! They look so good and I’m so happy about how everything is coming together! I’ll give more of an update on the Master Bedroom progress next week!

Next in our construction schedule is patching in the hardwood floors, framing in our new master closet, patching in the sheetrock, and installing the tile at the front entry. We are also getting the HVAC, sheet rocker, flooring refinisher and painter scheduled for the next few weeks!

Still lots to do and some details to work out, but this is already a totally different house and we can’t see the progress made over the next week!
