It is almost September, and I’m wondering how the time has gone by so quickly, but also how this home renovation started in March and it’s already September? Anyone else? Just me? Ok.
Anyway, it’s been a while since I’ve updated you on the main level remodel. I am so excited and happy with the way everything is coming together!
I’ll start in the entry and living room. A lot has happened since the last update in the middle of April. The floors have been completely refinished in Minwax’s Jacobean Stain and they are STUNNING. I am totally in love. The floors are even more beautiful then I thought they would be.
The front closet was removed and tile was installed for easy clean up. As shown in the last blog update, there are still plans of a “mud room” style storage area with cabinets, a bench and coat hooks.
The furniture has been moved back in and the entertainment center is planned out. Max is going to build and install the cabinets! There will be stained shiplap behind the TV and plenty of lower storage with beautiful bookshelves on either side. Inspiration image below!
Moving to the Dining Room, everything has been completed from a construction stand point. I absolutely adore how this room turned out. Max and I did purchase a new dining set that is closer to the wood tone finish we wanted. The chairs had a microfiber seat that I wasn’t in love with, so those are being recovered with a grey seat.
The last major update I have on the main level remodel is the Master Bedroom. Where this whole project started! When I say I’m obsessed…. I mean it. How could I not be obsessed with how absolutely PERFECT this turned out.
I also refinished the dresser and love how that turned out. It’s a wonderful accent for the room!
The office is getting a facelift. The chair rail and popcorn ceilings are being removed, there is a bookshelf being added where the original Master closet once was, and it will get a fresh coat of paint. The main wall color will be Sherwin Williams Egret White (Also used in the Master Bedroom) and the accent wall will be Sherwin Williams Trinket! This is going to be such an energizing work space!
Next on the project list is finishing my office, which Max is already working on (I can’t wait to have my working space back!) the entertainment center and mud space storage. Max has put in most of the sweat equity in our home and he has been doing a fantastic job at making my visions come to life. I would not have ended up with such beautiful spaces if it wasn’t for him.
That’s all the updates I have for you on our home. Still some work to be done. Slow and steady wins the race! Until next time!
