This might be my favorite project reveal yet!
The Buffalo Lake Home Kitchen Remodel was an exciting opportunity to create a beautiful and more functional space that truly maximizes the beauty of the lake. Before the remodel, the kitchen was closed off from the living room, which prevented the entertainment value of the space from reaching its full potential and the view of the lake was not optimal from the kitchen. The goals of this project were to open up the space, remove the breakfast peninsula, create a beverage bar, increase seating at the newly created peninsula, and optimize the view of the lake.

First thing first, the 13′ wall between the kitchen and living room was opened. This wasn’t a load barring wall, so it was able to be opened to its maximum width. This allowed for a more open and connected feel between the two rooms. The view of the lake was improved drastically, and it was able to seat 5 more people!

There were some issues with the subfloor, so after addressing those issues, new 5″ wide plank maple floors were installed. The hardwood floors also extended into the living room for plenty of flat floor stability for the counter-stools to sit at the peninsula. The soffits in the kitchen were removed to take full advantage of the beautiful 9′ ceiling height in the kitchen. The cabinets extended to the ceiling for a more spacious and open feeling in the kitchen.

Top of the line Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances were selected, which created a chef’s dream home kitchen. A built-in fridge is shown off by the custom cabinetry, there is plenty of space for the dual-fuel 36″ wide freestanding range, a beautiful dishwasher, a microwave drawer in the base cabinet, and an under counter beverage fridge so everyone has easy access to their favorite drinks.

Custom cherry cabinets with an Asbury stain were created to incorporate the stunning appliances and some wonderful cabinet add-ons like a spice rack door, pull out trash and recycling, pull out tray divider, roll out shelves, an appliance garage, and pegged drawers for everyday dishes. These custom features really help increase the functionality of the kitchen. The walk-in pantry has plenty of food storage and additional countertop space for large kitchen appliance storage.

To compliment the gorgeous cherry cabinets, beautiful Atlantic Taupe granite countertops were selected to add some color and movement in the space. The backsplash remained simple with a 3″x8″ white subway tile and simple cream grout color.

With the completion of the project, the kitchen is now open to the living room, and the breathtaking lake views can be seen from anywhere in the house. The space is now perfect for any holiday or family gathering. The Buffalo Lake Home Kitchen Remodel was a true success, and it exceeded the client’s expectations. The transformation of the space was stunning, truly maximizing the beauty of the lake, and creating a chef’s dream home kitchen perfect for cooking, baking, and entertaining.
