Farmington Basement Remodel

Finishing a transitional basement can be a fun and rewarding experience. When it comes to a full remodel, there are many ways to create a space to fit your needs. In this particular scenario, the basement includes a three-quarter bathroom, laundry room, open living room, bar, and a guest bedroom.

Starting with the bathroom, the space was designed with a single vanity, linen cabinet, and tiled shower with a glass door. The same quartz material in the laundry and bar was selected for the vanity. The linen cabinet provides extra storage space for towels (and hides the radon system), linens, and other bathroom supplies. The tiled shower with a glass door is a unique addition to any bathroom, providing a modern update to the room.

The laundry room in the basement can be designed to include hanging storage and additional built-in storage for supplies. A great addition to the laundry room is a folding counter to make folding clothes easier and faster.

The open living room is a great way to bring people together in the basement. It can be designed to include comfortable seating, a television, and other forms of entertainment. Depending on the size of the basement, adding a gaming area or recreation area can be a great addition.

The fully custom bar is great for entertaining guests and having a place to hang out and relax. The bar can have seating for seven and can include a sink, mini refrigerator, and other amenities.

Adding an additional bedroom is perfect for a growing family or a household with many visitors . The space can be designed to include a bed, dresser, and closet for storage. Depending on the size of the space, you can also add a nightstand, desk, and other items. Some clients use the guest room as a craft room or office space.

Designing this transitional basement was a lot of fun and I’m so glad I was able to be a partner in this project. With the three-quarter bathroom, laundry room, open living room, bar, and guest bedroom, you can create a comfortable and inviting space that is perfect for entertaining and relaxing.
